This page contains the meditations from the study day on the subject of “Dealing with Difficulties”.
SESSION 1 – Dealing with Difficulties 1 – recording from Friday the 2nd September 2016.
Practice 1 – Reducing resistance – 45minute meditation consisting of a deep relaxing body scan and lying down meditation to observe the flow of thoughts, feelings and emotions and to recognise impermanence.
Practice 2 – Welcoming difficulties with love and kindness – 35minute meditation creating a safe and loving place into which difficulties can be invited and from which they can be released.
Practice 3 – All is energy – 50minute meditation in which every thought, feeling and emotion (even the difficult ones) are experienced as the energy of love and compassion.
Practice 4 – Nothing to hold onto – 30minute meditation summing up the previous practices – relaxing in the face of difficulty, welcoming difficulty with loving kindness and letting it go with compassion.
