LEARNING TO LIVE WITH EASE.

The following 6 meditation practices were recorded during the meditation study day “Learning to live with ease” held in the Chapel of the Royal Northern Infirmary, Inverness, on Friday the 12th April 2024. If after listening to them or just reading this page you have any questions or feel in need of advice please feel free to contact Daniel, the secretary of the Highland Mindfulness Group, on highlandmindfulness@gmail.com. He will forward your email to whoever is best placed to help you.

“Most of our pain, most of our suffering comes from resistance to what is. Life is. And when we resist what life is, we suffer. When you can say yes to life, surrender to life and say: “Okay, what should I be now?” That’s where power comes from.”

(From an old Tibetan story/proverb)

Practice 1 – The challenge – the no/yes meditation practice.

Practice 2 – Taking care of yourself and not becoming overwhelmed – the safe-space meditation.

Practice 3 – Using the breath to remain open, to release and to rest .

Practice 4 – Using the body to practise being open – an opening body scan.

Practice 5 – Soften, soothe and allow – self-compassion as a prerequisite of being open with oneself.

Practice 6 – Recognising the beauty that lies within us all and opening to our essence.
